New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer Intern
The NPI Engineer Intern develops new and improved processes to manufacture medical devices. Work includes prototyping alternative processing options, product impacts evaluation and functional testing, designing tooling, and streamlining process steps. Typical job duties include:
The NPI Engineer Intern develops new and improved processes to manufacture medical devices. Work includes prototyping alternative processing options, product impacts evaluation and functional testing, designing tooling, and streamlining process steps. Typical job duties include:
- Supporting New Product Development (NPD) teams for launching new products.
- Improving manufacturing processes, including designing tooling or optimizing equipment parameters.
- Developing new process technologies, lab testing, producing and analyzing data
- Interfacing with production associates, technicians, engineers and cross functional departments.
- Required Qualifications
- Working toward a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or other related discipline.
- Strong interest and/or experience in process development or design.
- Coursework and/or knowledge of statistics, and mechanism or tooling design
- Ability to read and prepare technical documentation. (Video capture and editing a plus).
- Computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint (SolidWorks and Minitab a plus).
- Strong analytical capability and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of machine shop equipment and process
- Open minded, wanting to learn, critical and self-driving mindset
- The primary work location for this position is onsite at Aliso Viejo, CA (company headquarters).
