Position Overview
Play a pivotal role in the source-to-pay process and be responsible for the purchase of goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company’s operational needs are met, and consider price, quality, and delivery, while ensuring continuity of supply. Responsible for providing a consistent global process that consolidates purchase order processing and procurement support services in a cost effective and timely manner. Daily activities include coordination, support, and troubleshooting of purchasing activities with the business, management of supplies and services, requisition approval/review, invoice reconciliation, and other duties as assigned. Job duties:
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand specifications, timelines, and needs for indirect purchases, ensure alignment with preferred supplier strategies, promote utilization of diverse suppliers, and maintain related reporting.
- Perform cost analyses for designated projects, maintain report on cost savings, and negotiate pricing and contract terms to achieve optimal value for the organization.
- Conduct first-level contract discussions with business stakeholders and suppliers, and oversee contract lifecycles to ensure compliance with pricing, terms, and organizational requirements; escalate issues to Indirect Category Leaders and Legal as needed.
- Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and conformance with established policies and procedures.
- Conduct competitor and consumer research to identify trends, consumer needs, and growth opportunities.
- Prepare purchase orders and BPO’s to obtain required materials and services for contracts and one-time purchases.
- Support Accounts Payable (AP) team with payments and invoice discrepancies as required.
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure delivery requirements are met to support business needs and communicate proactively with internal departments for any sourcing or delivery issues, including facilitating vendor corrective actions.
- Lead and/or support GBS Continuous Improvement Projects and/or support other projects, as assigned.
- Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization.
- Perform additional duties, as assigned.
- University degree completed in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field of study.
- Minimum one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience (e.g., buyer, procurement, purchasing, etc.) in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to be able to confidently address all levels of the organization.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Intermediate or Advanced Excel knowledge).
- Ariba and SAP experience.
- SAP Master Data Governance for Vendor Master experience.
- Must be a critical thinker and active listener with good time management skills to work with Suppliers and Project Management teams to define deliverables.
- Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn about new processes with very little information provided.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to challenge the status quo.
- Fully Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Comprehension of supplier diversity as it relates to supplier selection.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing and logistics best practices, policies and legal contracting.
- Experience working with cross functional project team.
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability for results. Demonstrated ability to analyze, organize and report data.
- Knowledge of current purchasing practices and negotiation.
- Extended periods of computer use.
- Extended periods of sitting and standing.
- Moderate lifting, up to 50 lbs.
