Sr. Analyst, Financial Cost Accounting
Position Overview
Support all Accounting and Finance activities related to global cost accounting, product standards, inventory and manufacturing. Support the development of the Annual Operational Budget and Forecasts. Job duties:
- Support annual product costing process, including materials, labor and overhead rates.
- Support development of the Annual Manufacturing Operations Budget and ongoing forecasting activities.
- Perform various plant accounting activities related to month-end close including Journal entries, account reconciliations, manufacturing variance, absorption and spending analysis.
- Prepare monthly management reporting and analysis of manufacturing variances, scrap, actual cost, PPV and other associated operating costs.
- Analyze key metrics.
- Assist in coordinating and oversight of inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory across all plants as required.
- Support external quarterly and annual audit process and prepare necessary schedules, reconciliations and analyses.
- Partner with Manufacturing Operations to develop and maintain accurate standard costs as required.
- Coordinate with IT on resolving any cost accounting related discrepancies in the ERP system.
- Support procedures to ensure that costing and business practices are in compliance with internal policies, US GAAP and J-SOX.
- Analyze and track product cost reduction initiatives and system/business process improvements.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and management reports as requested by senior management.
- Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity. in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization.
- Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics or related field of study.
- A minimum of five (5) years of work experience in Accounting or Finance, with emphasis on cost accounting, reporting, inventory and variance analysis; in a Global Manufacturing environment.
- Excellent MS Office skills: advanced Excel skills required.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP).
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Skill in analyzing and interpreting financial data.
- High degree of accuracy in working with large amounts of data.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication (verbal, written, and listening) and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with associates across sites and all levels of management.
- Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (Medical Device industry a plus).
- FP&A experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Successful experience working independently, effectively and confidently in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working under tight deadlines.
- Advanced modeling capabilities.
- Proficient with ERP systems, SAP and Hyperion.
