Associate Legal Counsel, EMEA
Position Overview
Assist in corporate and legal matters and related processes for the EMEA region for a globally focused medical device corporation. Prepare, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts and provide advice and counsel to various business functions, including Clinical, Sales, Marketing, Compliance, and IT. Must be able to perform legal assignments with a high degree of independence, be detailed-oriented, and adapt to changing priorities as well as a high volume of work under tight deadlines. Perform legal work, conduct research, and provide legal support and counsel to various functions. This position will reside in our office in Duesseldorf, GermanyJob duties:
- Perform contract related activities, including negotiating and drafting agreements including, but not limited to, clinical trial agreements, consulting agreements, distribution agreements, master service agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Create, maintain, and/or update contract templates.
- Provide advice and counsel on various types of legal support to solve any specific issues including management of preliminary work and active negotiation, drafting, and follow up.
- Work closely with the Company’s various business units, including Clinical, Sales, Marketing, Compliance, and IT to support their contract and advice needs.
- Assist with GDPR matters including assessment and drafting processes and agreements.
- Complete special projects as requested and participate in Legal Department initiatives and development.
- Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Post graduate University Diploma in Law.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well-organized and autonomous in the organization of duties assigned.
- Good responsiveness to priorities, strategic and problem-solving skills.
- A self-starter who is able to function in an individual contributor role as well as in the capacity of counselor to others.
- Strong English language skills (business nomenclature).
- Medical device, pharmaceutical or other healthcare-related experience highly desirable.
