Electrical Engineer II, R&D
Position Overview
Supports the development of electronic medical device products with work including writing or verifying specifications, designing circuit diagrams, pc board layouts, embedded systems programming, test processes, equipment and specifying raw materials to ensure the concepts and/or prototypes meet their requirements. • Develops new circuit designs for product concepts and products • Generates programs for embedded system microprocessors • Engineering design of printed circuit boards • Generates intellectual property, write invention disclosures • Supervises assemblers, technicians and specialists • Partially self-directed, capable of meeting project goals with supervision • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Design and development of medical devices
- Read and prepare technical documentation
- Knowledge of standard electronic test equipment, and processes, and knowledge of medical device manufacturing equipment and processes
- Knowledge of medical and technical development
- Computer skills including MS Word, Excel, CAD, and EDA/ECAD (such as Eagle, DesignSpark, Altium, KiCAD, Dip Trace, OrCAD).
- Programming language such as JAVA, C, C++, Assembler, Python, and LabView.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent
- Three to five years of experience
- Good communication skills
- Less than 10% travel required
