Regional Manager, Field Clinical Team (East)

Position Overview

Provides leadership to the Neurovascular Clinical Technology Specialist Team. Provides technical, clinical and educational support for Terumo Neuro Products with focus on new technologies. Job duties might include:
  • Supervise and mentor the Neurovascular Clinical Technology Specialist Team: Recruit, Hire and Train new staff; provide career development, job performance feedback and leadership; support budgeting, manage resource allocation and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and NA Sales to develop, and provide optimal technical/clinical support for product evaluations, physician new-users, challenging cases, clinical in-services and other physician training and educational support programs on all Terumo Neuro products.
  • Conduct and support account CME programs for product/clinical education on the initial-use, and support the Global Market Development Team to integrate “best practices” and ensure consistency on optimal clinical techniques for product evaluations, launches, new-user training and completion of controlled clinical trials and case series.
  • Lead with researching and analyzing competitive products and their potential impact on Terumo Neuro business; provide recommendations and support for development of product positioning, education materials, and product development programs.
  • Manage team support for associates from key functional groups including, but not limited to: Marketing, Sales, Clinical Research, R&D, and Regulatory Affairs, to help drive success for new product development and other Terumo Neuro programs.
  • Support new product development: including physician preference testing, pre-clinical testing, evaluation of new products and new product technical case support, analyzing and reporting on clinical performance issues and support post market surveillance as needed.
  • Partners with Global Market Development Team Members to integrate “best practices” and ensure consistency on optimal clinical techniques for product evaluations, launches, new-user training and completion of clinical studies.
  • If based remotely, travel to Aliso Viejo to meet with Marketing peers and other departments at corporate headquarters, approximately twice a year for at least two full days and provide support for Physician Visits at the MVI Global Innovation Center or at Key Accounts Globally as needed.
  • Coordinate and assist Global Market Development support at local, regional and other global scientific meetings, training or marketing programs as assigned.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Salary Range:

$135,529 - 177,881 (Financial compensation packages may be higher/lower than listed, & will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand)

    1. Bachelor’s Degree.
    2. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Angio-Suite (or equivalent) interventional neuroradiology procedures or neuro endovascular therapies as a technologist.
    3. Minimum of one (1) year neurovascular industry experience.
    4. Knowledge of complete vascular anatomy (cardiovascular system) and physiology with an extensive focus on knowledge of neuro anatomy and physiology.
    5. Willingness to travel up-to 70% (local, regional, national and some global).
    6. Understanding of project management, clinical study projects, trials and personnel management.
    7. Capability and flexibility to travel to hospitals and participates in training/marketing events worldwide.
    8. Capable of effectively interfacing/communicating with sales staff, cross-functional MicroVention teams and worldwide distributor organizations.
    9. Excellent computer and iPad skills with working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and maintaining customer databases.
    10. Extremely reliable and dependable.
    Desired Qualifications
    1. Registered Radiologic Technologist (R.T.) CV, VI, Registered Nurse (R.N.) or Endovascular, Cardiac background with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Angio-Suite (or equivalent) interventional procedures, with experience in neuro endovascular therapies as a technologist or nurse preferred.
    2. Neurovascular/Peripheral catheterization knowledge, techniques and skills.
    3. Ability to recognize normal and abnormal disease processes as it relates to clinical cases and the use of MicroVention products.
    4. Ability to effectively articulate MicroVention product use, concepts, outcomes and clinical device protocols and study design.
    5. Ability to effectively interface with physicians, staff and hospital administration.
    6. Ability to effectively interface with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Engineering, and Clinical Research staff.
    7. Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and consistently meet deadlines.
    8. Provides attention to detail and has the ability to work both as a team and autonomously.
    Physical
    • Extended periods of computer use.
    • Extended periods of sitting, standing, or speaking.
    • Occasional moderate lifting, up to 50 lbs.
    • May be required within the position to be in an environment that can include radiation exposure (such as in Cathlabs).
    • Travel – local, regional, and global (required 60-70%).
