Sr. Technician, Supplier Quality

Position Overview

The Senior Supplier Quality Technician performs technical tasks and verifies documentation to support the selection, evaluation and monitoring of suppliers. Job Duties:
  • Provides support to the Engineers and Managers with gathering information to evaluate/qualify new suppliers and new raw material component.
  • Supports the management of approved suppliers, via the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • Assists with monitoring/evaluation of current approved suppliers by collecting quality assessment surveys, quality certificates, quality agreements, and inspection history.
  • Aids SQE/SQM with escalating supplier quality issues discovered in receiving inspection or other (e.g. in-process, on-site audit).
  • Contacts suppliers regarding component quality issues, nonconformance reports (NCRs) and supplier corrective action requests (SCARs).
  • Provides support in the effectiveness check phase in the SCAR process.
  • Supports the facilitation of the supplier change notification process (SCN).
  • Assists and promotes supplier follow-up regarding audit findings.
  • Maintains supplier files.
  • Supports supplier scorecard process.
  • Provides support in notifying suppliers for any drawing specification changes.
  • Assists in collecting data for supplier quality metrics/charts.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Salary Range:

$29.21/hr.-$36.51/hr. (Financial compensation packages may be higher/lower than listed, & will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand)

    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Minimum five (5) years of related work experience.
    3. Good laboratory or manufacturing practices and ability to follow required safety procedures.
    4. Experience with process validation protocols and requirements (IQ, OQ, PQ, etc.).
    5. Good written and verbal communication skills.
    6. Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
    7. Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.
    8. Ability to read and prepare technical documentation.
    9. Knowledge of medical product manufacturing and quality.
    Desired Qualifications
    1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
    2. Experience addressing medical device component nonconformances.
    3. Experience communicating with suppliers.
    4. Experience working with technical documentation.
    5. ASQ Certification (e.g., CMQ/OE, CBA, CQA, etc.).
    6. Problem resolution experience is a bonus (CAPA, NCR, SCAR, etc.).
    7. Experience in the medical device industry.
