Director, Global Corporate Communications
Position Overview
Lead the Communications strategy – internally and externally – to positively amplify the Company brand; drive greater exposure regarding the Company and its products with external/internal audiences; and increase Associate engagement worldwide through effective Communications. Provide strong and consistent management and leadership skills to the Global Communications team that designs, develops, and delivers upon the business strategy and the global corporate communication strategy and key initiatives. Develop strong partnerships with key internal stakeholders and partners across various functions, regions, business units, Terumo Corporation, external partners, and media. Develop strategies to drive the business to greater levels of success. Provide thought leadership to accelerate communications. Work with and advise executive leadership to amplify their leadership brands internally and externally. Job duties:
- Develop the global Communications strategy for external and internal communications through thought leadership, best practices, and global input from key stakeholders.
- Provide strong leadership and management of the Communications team to further strengthen their skills to add great business value and provide development opportunities for the Communications Associates to grow their careers at the Company.
- Ensure the Company brand guidelines are well communicated, reinforced, and adhered to globally.
- Partner with the Commercial organization to understand the business needs to implement a holistic communications strategy around the Company, products, and procedures.
- Develop innovative and engaging Communication solutions through the use of video/written communications and alternative channels to reinforce the company strategy and business needs.
- Work closely with internal senior executives and external Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to amplify the external messaging on the products and procedures to utilize in external social media campaigns and internal messaging.
- Develop tailored communications campaigns globally and within various functions, as needed by the business.
- Play a key leadership role for various cultural initiatives such as Patient’s Day, DE&I events, community gatherings, etc.
- Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
- Act as the liaison for collaboration with Product Managers to ensure they are fully equipped to launch their new or enhancement to a product line.
- Manage the team to create effective product photos and videos to enhance communications, including creation of animations and illustrations.
- Work with regional leaders and HR professionals to ensure local communications needs are met and that the brand is consistently used globally.
- Ensure that all promotional materials are routed, reviewed, and approved before dissemination, as mandated by the Company’s quality procedure.
- Create and manage a comprehensive social media and journal advertising strategy to ensure timely promotion and meet deadlines for final promotional content.
- Working with senior management, develop and deliver multi-mode global communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of diverse audiences.
- Partner with Terumo Corporate communications team to ensure alignment.
- Travel ~10% as required.
- Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization.

Salary Range:
$158,000 - $207,000 Financial compensation packages may be higher/lower than what is listed, & will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs & market demand
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or business and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum twelve (12) years of related work experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of people management/leadership experience.
- Experience working with diverse cultures.
- Strong track record of working with executive level leadership.
- Experience with advertising agencies, public relations, brand management, and product launch fundamentals, including brochure and advertising development.
- Expertise with writing and publishing company-wide messaging.
- Exceptional editing and proof-reading skills.
- Excellent organizational and project coordination ability with acute attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong MS Office proficiency with emphasis on design and creative software.
- Previous experience in communications related field within a corporation or communications/consulting firm, Corporate Communications department, or equivalent.
- Medical device industry experience.
- Macintosh/MacBook proficiency preferred with familiarity for most Mac Adobe Programs (e.g., Illustrator, In-Design, etc.).
