Associate Director, Clinical Education
Position Overview
Help raise awareness and adoption of Neurovascular therapies. Lead the key product launches by assisting with customer training, taking the lead on creating a curriculum for medical education, and maintaining communication with the salesforce and customer base. Work in tandem with sales and marketing leadership, senior administration, medical staff officers, and physician leadership. Responsible for the development, implementation, and management of physician and associate educative programs. Serve as a leader in driving education programs, delivering a comprehensive course curriculum and approach to achieve delivery excellence throughout the organization. Job duties:
- Partner with physicians to develop clinical training and education content and implement learning programs.
- Build programs to establish proficiency and competency of Neuro Techs and Nurses and young physicians for new neurovascular interventions.
- Drive new product launch strategies with specific emphasis on product performance and differentiation.
- Interface with physicians for peer-to-peer initiatives and physician events.
- Assist with building lasting strategies for physician engagement, KOL development, and institutional partnership, including building and sustaining Centers of Expertise (COE).
- Assist with building scientific advisory boards and seek expert opinions as necessary.
- Engage with professional societies and build advocacy for MicroVention technologies and clinical evidence.
- Develop and implement training content to train internal employees on relevant MicroVention and competitive Neurovascular procedures, products, and clinical data through multi modal learning platforms.
- Use adult learning strategies to optimize internal training activities including using multi modal instructional methodologies.
- Lead execution of training programs, tracking training budget, track program effectiveness, and share KPIs for the training initiatives.
- Oversee affirmative dissemination of scientific materials.
- Develop concepts and align programs with market, product, and brand strategies.
- Design and implement educational programs.
- Negotiate sponsorship contracts.
- Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in related field with ten (10+) or more years of Peripheral, Endovascular, Neurovascular or Cardiovascular (NV/CV) experience, OR Master’s degree in related field with eight (8+) or more years of NV/CV experience.
- Familiar with U.S. physician landscape in Peripheral, Endovascular, Neurovascular or Cardiovascular.
- Minimum five (5) years of medical device experience in a customer facing role (e.g., Medical Education, Marketing, or Sales role).
- Minimum of three (3) years of management responsibility.
- Experience developing and implementing programs to grow the business.
- Travel up to 50% (estimating 2 weeks a month mostly US but some global)
- Experience working across functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to convey complex information clearly and succinctly.
- Excellent planning and analytical skills.
- Experience working with professional societies and government agencies (e.g., FDA), either directly or from within a corporation.
- Experience working in the health care industry.
- Good project management and execution skills.
- Ability to work as a team member, be flexible and adaptable, and work under pressure.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Self-motivated and self-directed individual with a conscientious approach to work assignments and demonstrated time management skills.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with people of varied professional, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with senior executives and government officials.
- Prior experience creating a training center from scratch.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and successfully prioritize competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute on specific strategies – with a strong record of accomplishment.
- Proven record of success as part of a team.
